Shimano's Moonshot is a series of Shore Spinning rods that comes directly from the Japanese market. Available in different lengths and weights, they are designed for fishing from beaches, harbors and rocks, using hard baits, soft baits and metal jigs in search of Seabass and other coastal predators. They have a high modulus Full Carbon blank with Hi-Power X technology which gives greater resistance to torsion and a fast action of the tip to guarantee extreme casting with all types of lures. S86ML - SEABASS
Standard model for Seabass Spinning to 8'6", very easy to handle. Suitable for 7-12cm class hard lures, sinking stickbaits, vibration and metal jigs up to 30 grams. Perfect for fishing from ports, small and medium-sized rivers, estuaries and cliffs.
S90ML - SEABASS
Longer 9' version of the model described above, it handles the same type of lures and is suitable for those looking for a few more meters of casting.
S96M - SEABASS and LIGHT SHORE JIGGING
Model that can be used both for heavy Seabass fishing and for Light Shore Jigging, it guarantees an excellent balance between handling and casting capacity. Suitable for catching both Seabass and blue fish that inhabit the coasts, it's perfect for using 10-15cm class hard lures, vibration and metal jigs up to 50 grams. It can be used by ports, rivers, reefs, estuaries and beaches.
S96MH - SEABASS, SURF and LIGHT SHORE JIGGING
The most powerful model in the series, it's perfect for handling 12-17cm class hard lures, heavy metal vibrations, topwater and metal jigs up to 60 grams. It can be used both for extreme Seabass Game, and for fishing from the beach or from the rocks in search of predators that inhabit the coasts such as Bluefish, Learfish, Barracuda, etc...
The indicated power (e.g. 6-32 grams) refers to the weight of lures that it can handle, while the maximum power (e.g. max. 38 grams) indicates the maximum casting jig weight that can be used.
