Combat Rat

Evergreen's Combat Rat is a mouse-shaped surface lure designed by the American professional Justin Kerr. It was designed as a topwater jointed plug to catch big Black Bass and to win tournaments! It has a body with a thick front part with an internal chamber that guarantees buoyancy and a back part with a particular flat keel that improves stability during swimming, preventing it from jumping out of the water during fast retrieves. The two parts are joined by a system with a double metal plate and a double fulcrum, which make both parts of the body mobile. Thanks to this flexible system it can move not only left and right, but also up and down and diagonally and the front part can perform complex movements such as an intense torsion and the back part a lateral action that emphasizes the oscillation of the tail. They also produce noise, certainly more than classic joint baits and that, combined with the metallic noise of the double central plate, also attract distant Black Bass. The wide lip is designed to be compatible with both slow and fast retrieves, as well as to help avoid obstacles and a big internal stainless steel ball generates a clicking sound during movement. All combined with a rotating system of the hook, so as to perform safe retrieves even with big prey, and an exclusive long and tapered PVC tail, which moves gently combining sounds, bubbles and waves on the surface of the water.
