The main zipper is designed for use when the bag is positioned on the side of the body, so it can be opened and closed easily with one hand without needing to turn the bag. The body of the bag is reinforced with multiple layers of rigid material, which not only prevents deformation but also facilitates smooth zipper operation. In this new model, the two waxed pockets have been reinforced, using waxed material on the back as well to improve water resistance. This allows for safer storage of items you don’t want to get wet, such as a digital compact camera. The innovative systems designed by Yuki Ono have also been retained, including the pliers holder, the drink holder, and the dividers inside the front pocket, all of which simplify access and organization. The new belt, which is stiffer compared to the previous model, brings significant advantages such as improved fit, increased resistance to slippage due to friction with the buckle, and more balanced weight distribution. However, the stiffness of the belt made size adjustment slower. To improve this, the end of the belt has been treated with thermal cutting to eliminate bumps, and the system for securing the excess belt has been changed from a plastic buckle to a Velcro version.
