Shimano's SLX XT is the new version of this series that replaces the old 2016 Casitas. The new SLX XT has the HAGANE body while the old Casitas had the composite body. The biggest difference, however, with the 2018 SLX is the application of the new "SVS INFINITY" system which offers a much wider range of brake adjustment than that of the VBS drag of the SLX model. It also features the "S3D SPOOL", the technology which drastically reduces reel vibrations thanks to the design of a well balanced and uniform thin aluminum reel that guarantees an incredible sensation of fluidity during casting and retrieve. It also has the "SUPER FREE SYSTEM", which is the pinion support system supported by the ball bearing to eliminate friction on the reel during casting.
