Shimano's Speedmaster AX Deep Drop is a new series of rods developed specifically for deep bottom fishing with electric reels and has spiral-mounted guides for maximum action performance. A glance at the Speedmaster AX Deep Drop will suggest that this is a very special rod. Designed to fish in the deepest waters, using electric reels, the Speedmaster AX Deep Drop has spiral-mounted guides for maximum action performance. This arrangement really enhances the action by guiding the line to the bottom of the blank. This simple design variation keeps the line away from the blank when under compression and maximizes the powerful and progressive action by reducing blank twist. The 1+1 blank (detachable handle) is produced using the best technologies: Full Carbon, HPC, Nanosheet and Biofibre. This combination not only offers immense strength and durability, but also allows for progressive action to compensate for any sudden unexpected pressure build-up when fighting fish. As you would expect from this type of rod, the components are absolutely first class. Fuji guides, aluminum reel seat and an EVA handle fit perfectly to the blank and the guides are mounted with silver and red colored wire for added strength and aesthetic appeal. There are three models in the range, all are 6'9" long and available in 200-600g, 500-1000g and 800-1500g. Perfect for deep sea anglers using electric reels, the Speedmaster AX Deep Drop is great for large squid, grouper and other large fish that reside in the depths.
