Daiwa's Caldia represents the new 2025 model with AIRDRIVE DESIGN! It has been specifically designed to allow the angler to operate the reel with extreme ease, combining lightness and power at the same time! The main components, such as the body and rotor, are made of ZAION V, an advanced material that combines lightness and rigidity at high levels. Additionally, the 5000 size has been introduced, making it suitable for an even wider variety of fishing techniques such as surf spinning and light shore jigging. AIRDRIVE DESIGN
An innovative system composed, in this case, of three technologies. Lightness, smoothness, and fluidity of the retrieve have been optimized. Additionally, inertia during rotation has been reduced without negatively impacting the strength and robustness, which are characteristic of Daiwa reels.
AIRDRIVE ROTOR
The new AIR DRIVE ROTOR made of ZAION V features a new shape, almost as if it were directly cut from a sphere. This design allows for weight reduction while increasing sensitivity and maintaining high rigidity and strength. The new shape significantly reduces inertia during rotation.
AIRDRIVE BAIL
The bail is made from a one-piece hollow tube structure that combines rigidity and lightness. The angle of the bail has been optimized to facilitate the smooth passage of the line from the bail to the line roller. This results in reduced weight and fewer issues during use.
AIRDRIVE SPOOL
The innovative spool is made thinner by eliminating unnecessary material, not only on the outside but also on the inside. This optimization reduces weight, improving retrieve performance, sensitivity, and casting performance, further enhanced by the LONG CAST ABS spool system.
MONOCOQUE BODY
The body is made from ZAION V, a monocoque design that resists flexing and twisting, making the reel extremely rigid. The monoblock body, which does not use screws, also allows for a larger internal gear and prevents the intrusion of dust, saltwater, and atmospheric agents, using Daiwa's Magsealed technology.
TOUGH DIGIGEAR
The internal gears are cold-forged and machined to high precision, providing better support for the spool and smoother rotation, allowing the reel to withstand heavy use even in extreme situations.
ATD TYPE-L
The new ATD TYPE-L drag improves on the characteristics of the ATD system; it's the same drag used in the top-tier Exist model and allows for improved drag adjustment, even when using very thin lines. The adjustment is more precise and avoids sudden jerks, making the fight safer and more enjoyable.
